Honours Easy

About the play

The plot revolves around a tense, dramatic tale of long-delayed revenge, betrayal, and unexpected alibis.

The story focuses on William Barton, a bitter and unhinged art dealer. Seventeen years prior to the events of the play, a rival ruined Barton’s career. Having harboured deep resentment for nearly two decades, Barton finally sees an opportunity to exact his revenge.

Instead of targeting his old rival directly, Barton orchestrates a sinister plot to frame the rival’s son for the theft of money from the safe in his art gallery. However, Barton’s meticulous plan completely unravels due to a secret he is entirely unaware of: the rival’s son has an absolute, ironclad alibi for the night of the crime—he was busy having an affair with Barton’s own wife.
